My favorite Comic Con packaging! When I was tasked with creating this Comic Con Exclusive for the Back to the Future Delorean Time Machine, the product engineer gave me a 4.5in x 2in plastic case to work with. I felt like it didn't give the right amount of real estate to tell the story in a compelling way. So I came to the table with this idea. To tell the story of the Time Machine better by including the radioactive fuel case that the Doc in the movie had, and when opened, reveals the product in a larger casing. This casing would include a diarama of the vehicle in action at the magic moment in the movie where it actually goes Back to the Future! The idea was so well received, that the budget for the project was increased to allow for the extra size in the case and a deluxe box to contain it. The art from the Time machine packaging was featured at the Comic Con booth that year. It was a great feeling to see the artwork displayed at such a huge event. This exclusive was completely sold out at the convention.
